SOAP requests and scripting

Bronagh McElduff
Hi,

I am interested in JMeter's web service capabilities for testing web
services.  Is it possible to embed a SOAP request in a script to send to
a web service under test?  Also, I would like to be able to use a SOAP
response for a result comparison.  My reading of the supporting
documentation suggests that all testing in this area is centred on HTTP
requests.

Any more information would be much appreciated, especially if I am wrong!

Cheers, Bronagh

In reply to this post by Bronagh McElduff
the current SOAP webservice sampler uses Apache Soap driver.  It works
with axis, jwsdp and .net webservices. Atleast it should and I've
verified it against a conforming webservice. apache soap driver uses
HTTP.

therefore, if you want to do soap over RMI or some other network
protocol, you'll have to write a new sampler.
